Sophomore Owen Behr (Vestavia Hills, Ala.) enjoyed a four-goal afternoon, while Badeer and Jack Collins (Memphis, Tenn.) both notched hat-tricks, and senior Michael Emerick (Damascus, Md.) tacked on two goals and two assists in a four point effort.

USMMA opened the afternoon with four unanswered goals in the first 10 minutes of the first quarter, but the Knights bounced back well. They scored twice in the final three minutes to end the period, with KP up just 4-2.

Behr pushed that lead to 5-2 when he found the back of the night shortly into the second period. A couple of minutes later, he buried another goal along with Emerick to make it 7-2 Mariners. After some solid defensive stands from Mount St. Mary, Collins found the back of the net with under a minute to play, which helped USMMA head into halftime with a six-goal lead.

After the intermission, Merchant Marine came out red-hot in the third quarter. Badeer scored twice, Behr tallied a goal, and Owen Barcus (Annapolis, Md.) added his own goal to help make it 12-2 just over five minutes into the frame.

The Mariner attack continued to find openings throughout the third quarter, ending the frame with eight goals as they held a 16-3 advantage over the Knights.

Kings Point tacked on four more goals across the final 15 minutes en route to a resounding 20-3 win over Mount St. Mary.

USMMA won 16 face-offs to compared to MSMC's 11, with senior Chris Neuman (South Huntington, N.Y.) winning 8-of-10 draws and tying freshman Tucker Kuhn (Towson, Md.) for the team-high with six ground balls. Sophomore defender Ryan Thorne (Selden, N.Y.) tied for the game-high with three caused turnovers.

Merchant Marine hits the road for their next contest, on Saturday, April 5th, at 7 p.m., at SUNY Maritime's Reinhart Field against the Privateers.
