Mariners Put Up A Season-High In Points In 93-35 Home Win Over Mount St. Vincent

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Dec. 13, 2025) – The USMMA women's basketball team scored a season-best 93 points and allowed a season-low of just 35 points in their home victory over Skyline foe Mount St. Vincent on Saturday afternoon inside the Liebertz Gymnasium. The victory improved the Mariners' record to 8-3 (5-1 Skyline), while the Dolphins fell to 2-7 (1-5 Skyline) in defeat.

Game Links For the second-straight game senior Hannah Ramsden (Port Aransas, Texas) recorded a career-high in points, as she drained 32 points on 11-of-17 shooting and also contributed three assists and three steals. She was one of three Mariners with career-highs, as freshman Jaden Lodice (Littleton, Colo.) scored 10 points and classmate Natalie Doan (Mount Dora, Fla.) added seven.

Junior Emily Grasseler (Millbrook, N.Y.) notched a double-double with 15 points and a game-high 16 rebounds, while also leading all players with six assists. Sophomore Carolae Barton (Waldorf, Md.) had a strong performance off the bench with 17 points and four assists in just 16 minutes. Junior Breanna Sommers (Casa Grande, Ariz.) rounded out five Mariners in double-digit scoring with 10 points.

KP jumped out quickly in the first quarter, turning early stops into points as Ramsden scored at the line and from deep, Lodice finished in the paint (and in transition), and Sommers knocked down a pair of threes to help build a 26-10 cushion. After the score was briefly tied at 2-2, Kings Point controlled the tempo the rest of the quarter with steady paint touches and a flurry of points off turnovers.

In the second quarter, the Mariners extended the margin with a balanced stretch that featured more threes from Ramsden and Lodice, plus a transition finish from Sommers off a takeaway. USMMA kept stacking stops into quick offense, pushed the lead to 47-18 by halftime, and never allowed the visitors to make a serious run.

USMMA kept its foot on the gas after the break, opening the third quarter with more defense-to-offense sequences and continuing to grow the lead behind inside scores, fast-break chances, and trips to the foul line. In the fourth, KP poured it on with another burst – highlighted by a Doan three, multiple finishes in transition, and consistent free-throw production – to turn the game into a 93-35 final.

The Mariners shot efficiently throughout, going 34-for-72 overall (47.2%) and 8-for-18 from three (44.4%) while also converting 17-of-20 at the foul line (85.0%), as Mount St. Vincent struggled to find rhythm at 13-for-54 (24.1%) and 1-for-13 from deep (7.7%). The Mariners also won the glass 50-31 (+19), including 18 offensive boards that helped fuel a 21-2 edge in second-chance points. Specialty stats that stick out were a 34-7 advantage in points off turnovers (UMSV had 27 turnovers) and sizeable gaps in fast-break points (16-2), bench points (24-8), and points in the paint (34-20).

Junior Nailea Green scored nine points to lead Mount St. Vincent, while also tying senior teammate Kyla McLean with a team-best six rebounds. Sophomore Angelina Escobinas added eight points in the losing effort.

The Mariners will close out the 2025 portion of their schedule this coming Wednesday night, Dec. 17, when they host Skyline Conference opponent Yeshiva University for a 7 p.m. tip-off at the Liebertz Gymnasium.
