STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (Jan. 3, 2025) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women's track & field team laced it up at the Wagner Invitational on Friday afternoon at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. Senior Katherine Kerchner (Reading, Pa.) put up a pair of top-10 finishes to lead Kings Point.

Kerchner finished seventh in the mile and 3000 meter run, crossing the tape with times of 5:35.23 and 11:16.05.
 
Freshman Kathryn Wahab (Waxhaw, N.C.) posted a personal record in the 200 meter dash, crossing the finish line in 19th with a time of 33.95.
 
Sophomore Jordan Washington (Tampa, Fla.) also recorded a new personal record in the weight throw, uncorking a throw of 11.66m (38' 3.00").
 
Merchant Marine returns to action next Saturday, Jan. 11, at the West Point Open in West Point, New York.
