Mariners Place Second At TCNJ Invite, As Cable Gets NCAA Cut In 1M Board

11/24/2024 11:00:00 PM

EWING, N.J. (Nov. 24, 2024) – The USMMA men's swimming & diving took part in the three-day TCNJ Invitational this past weekend. The Mariners came in second place out of the field of six teams that competed with 606 points, trailing only the host #19 Lions, who scored 1,700 team points.

Merchant Marine had a total of 17 top-eight finishes, including one first-place finish by junior diver Thomas Cable (Litchfield Park, Ariz.) on Sunday in the one-meter diving event. Cable achieved a score of 458.90 in the 11-dive one-meter discipline, which was over the NCAA qualifying mark of 425, so Cable now just needs to hit the mark one more time in the one-meter dive throughout the season to officially qualify for the NCAA Diving Regionals.
