PURCHASE, N.Y. (Nov. 16. 2024) – The USMMA women's volleyball team lost the Skyline Conference Championship Match on Saturday up at top-seeded Manhattanville University, 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-11), inside the Valiants' Kennedy Gymnasium. The defeat ends the Mariners' season with a 19-9 record, while Manhattanville improves to 20-9 and earn an automatic bid to the NCAA National Championship Tournament.

It was a struggle offensively for the Mariners, as they only mustered 21 kills to the Ville's 40, with sophomore
Erin Stillinger (Keller, Texas) leading the way with five. Senior libero
Virginia Robert (Lynchburg, Va.) picked up a team-best nine digs, while freshman setter
Kylie Creech (Mishawaka, Ind.) dished out nine assists. Sophomore
Alexa Tipps (Palmdale, Calif.) added three service aces and freshman
Maddie Mayer (Centennial, Colo.) finished out her phenomenal freshman season in the middle with a match-high three blocks.

The Valiants were led by Skyline Player of the Year and the tournament's Most Outstanding Player junior Loren Hernandez, who had a double-double with 17 kills (on .324 hitting) and 11 digs on the day. Junior Samantha Andriola recorded 21 assists and senior libero Grace Ballagas led all players with 15 digs.
