KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Nov. 19, 2024) – The USMMA men's swimming & diving team kicked off the 2024-25 season with a bang this past Saturday with a quad-meet sweep of Skyline Conference opponents Mount St. Mary (158-29), Sarah Lawrence (158-15) and SUNY Maritime (158-33) at Mount St. Mary's Kaplan Center Pool.
Additionally, on Tuesday morning, freshmen John Frank (Highland, Md.) and Cody Lay (Bartlesville, Okla.) were honored by the Skyline Conference for their efforts in Saturday's meet. Frank was named the Skyline Co-Swimmer of the Week, while Lay earned Rookie of the Week accolades. To read the complete release from the Skyline Conference, click here.

Below is the complete list of wins for the Mariners on Saturday.
- The 200 medley relay "A" team of senior Teague Mayer (Boulder, Colo.), sophomore Luke Dankert (Grand Island, Neb.), freshman Ryan McOsker (Fredericksburg, Va.) and Frank in 1:37.21.
- Lay picked up his first collegiate win in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:30.33.
- Junior Matthew Wachendorfer (Greensboro, N.C.) in the 200 freestyle in 1:48.28.
- Freshman Max Fedorenko (Chicago, Ill.) grabbed his first collegiate win in the Men's 50 freestyle in 22.30.
- Frank in the 200 IM in 1:58.61 and 100 freestyle in 48.87.
- McOsker in the 100 butterfly in 54.12.
- Meyer in the 100 backstroke with a time of 53.63.
- Sophomore Ryan Lester (Heath, Texas) in the 500 freestyle in 4:59.85.
- Dankert in the 100 breaststroke in 59.25.
- The 200 freestyle relay "A" team of freshman Connor Wheeler (Humble, Texas), junior Diego Corredor (Fort Myers, Fla.), Wachendorfer and Fedorenko in 1:30.68.
Lay was named the "Mariner of the Meet," awarded based on a team vote to an individual for their performance and contribution to the team.
The USMMA men's swimming & diving team is back in action at the TCNJ Invite beginning Friday, November 22, and concluding on Sunday, November 24.
