The defeat drops the Mariners' record to 8-5-2 (5-2-2 Skyline), while the reigning conference champion Valiants improve to 8-6-1 (6-1 Skyline) with the victory.

Ethan Howell (Alexandria, Va.) made three saves over the 90 minutes, while his counterpart for the Valiants, senior Jake Rothluebbers, had one stop to earn the win between the pipes.
