KINGS POINT, N.Y. (July 21, 2023) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Athletic Department and the USMMA Alumni Association & Foundation (AAF) announced the selections for the newest class to be inducted into the USMMA Athletics Hall of Fame on Friday.
 
Six individuals will be enshrined in the Hall of Fame area inside O'Hara Hall along with the 148 who have already been honored, bringing the new total to 154 inductees.
 
The following six alumni will be inducted into the USMMA Athletic Hall of Fame:

• Dennis Fitzgerald '81 (Track & Field)
• Janine (Wachter) Haas '06 (Volleyball)
• Jay Carpenter '08 (Swimming & Diving)
• Kristen (Hetsko) McCarthy '09 (Basketball)
• Mike Bybee '10 (Baseball)
• Daniel Twito '11 (Wrestling/Soccer)

The USMMA Alumni Association and Foundation (AAF) and Athletic Department would like to congratulate all of this year's inductees into the USMMA Athletic Hall of Fame. The Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held during Homecoming/Hall of Fame Weekend at Kings Point on Friday, Sept. 8, at the beautiful Mariner Estate nearby.
