PURCHASE, N.Y. - The United States Merchant Marine Academy men's lacrosse program was victorious in a majority of their face-offs (21-of-26, 80.8%) and on the scoreboard (18-4) as Kings Point controlled the game from start to finish.

Defense ruled the day for Head Coach Dan Paccione's unit as the Mariners suffocated the Panthers and set season-lows for goals allowed (4), points (5), shots (15), and SOG (6).

Jack Collins (Memphis, Tenn.) went over the 100-point plateau in just his second season at The Academy, reaching the milestone with a pair of points during the afternoon.

Adam Johnson (Canton, Ohio) was the master of the face-off as he secured 10-of-his-13 (76.9%) face-offs, giving him double-digits for the second time this season as well as grabbing a game-best seven ground balls.

Three student-athletes tied for the points lead as Owen Barcus (Annapolis, Md.), Michael Emerick (Damascus, Md.), and Jack Meyer (Sandy Utah) all went for four points with Barcus and Meyer doing it solely from scores while Emerick tied with Charlie Wahlin (Stafford, Va.) for the assists crown at three.

Merchant Marine has locked up the number two seed in the Skyline Tournament and will look to keep its momentum plus its five-game winning streak intact in the regular season finale at home against Saint Joseph's-Long Island at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
