STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (Feb. 24, 2023) – The USMMA men's track & field team saw a 42-year old record fall in the distance medley relay on Friday night at the Fastrack Last Chance Invite at the Ocean Breeze Complex. The Mariners had a total of four top-five finishes at the event.

The DMR team of freshmen
Luke Zwiesler (Colbert, Wash.),
Isaiah Sims (Sunnyvale, Texas),
Silas Glynn (Folsom, Calif.) and
Isaac Clark (Weddington, N.C.) won the event with a new academy record time of 10:15.35. The Mariners moved into the top-50 in the national rankings in the event, as the quartet's time is now the 42nd best in all of Division III.

Freshman
Nathan Fields (Westminster, Md.) came in fourth place in the shot put (12.31m - 40' 4.75"), while classmate
Elijah Ramthun (Bozrah, Conn.) placed fifth in the 1000m (2:53.43).

Sophomore
Konnor Bye (Liberty Hill, Texas) rounded out the top-five finishes with a fifth-place showing in the long jump (6.50m - 21' 4").

In addition to the DRM,
Isaiah Sims continues to rank in the top-100 in the nation in the 400m, as his time of 49.08 earlier this year at the Coast Guard Winter Invite ranks 64th in the country.
