FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (Oct. 24, 2023) – The USMMA women's volleyball team lost in dramatic fashion to Skyline rival Farmingdale State in five sets on Tuesday night, 22-25, 25-17, 25-22, 16-25, 15-8. The Mariners' record drops to 12-10 (8-2 Skyline), while the Rams improve to 11-10 (8-2 Skyline) with the victory.

Senior Meredith Buchanan (Kathleen, Ga.) recorded a career-high 22 kills as part of a double-double effort with 13 digs, while freshman setter Alexa Tipps (Palmdale, Calif.) dished out 42 assists and picked up 13 digs for a double-double herself.
 
Two other players just missed out on double-doubles as senior Brittany Breland (Bryan, Texas) had nine kills and 12 digs and junior Elizabeth Kay (Charleston, W.Va.) registered a career-high 10 kills with six digs.
 
Sophomore libero Stephanie Schatzman (Virginia Beach, Va.) led all players with 31 digs over the five sets. Middles Amy Jones (Roscoe, Ill.) and Erin Stillinger (Keller, Texas) both contributed five kills apiece.
 
For the Rams, Kalena Ricketts had a match-high 28 kills, while Sarah Rende recorded 39 assists and Lana Ventura picked up a team-best 18 digs.
 
The Mariners close out Skyline Conference action on Thursday night, Oct. 26, with a home match against Mount St. Vincent beginning at 7 p.m. inside the Liebertz Gymnasium. Live stats and a live video feed of the match will be available on the USMMA Women's Volleyball Schedule Page.
