After winning the first set rather convincingly, Merchant Marine actually faltered a little to start the second, falling behind by as many as five points after four-straight by the Dolphins made it 11-6. A quick timeout by coach
Kai Dugquem set the Mariners back on course, as they put together five-straight to tie the set up at 12-12. CMSV stayed ahead until late in the set. Trailing 21-19, USMMA tallied five-straight to make it set point. After dropping two in a row, the Mariners finally closed out the set on a service error by Mount St. Vincent.
Â
The third set was much like the first, with Merchant Marine in control from start to finish.
