KINGS POINT, N.Y. (July 6, 2022) – The United States Merchant Marine Academy Department of Physical Education & Athletics has established a new mission and vision ahead of the upcoming 2022-23 academic year. The new mission and vision defines the role of the department within the USMMA Community and sets a series of priorities that our department will focus on moving forward within #OURAcademy.
 
"The departmental process of updating our Mission and Vision has reenergized our staff for the 2022-23 academic year and we are motivated to work with faculty, staff and students at #OURAcademy," said fourth-year Athletic Director Kristofer Schnatz. "As we look to get back to athletic normalcy, it is important to concentrate on the continuous improvement of the Midshipmen experience through a united effort. We will focus the mission and vision as we recruit, develop and retain our Midshipmen in the classroom, competition and throughout our community."
