Box Score KINGS POINT, N.Y. (May 7, 2022) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women's lacrosse team is headed back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2019, as the top-seeded Mariners defeated #2-seed Farmingdale State College, 15-2, on a rainy Saturday afternoon at Brooks Stadium in the 2022 Skyline Championship Game. This is the third Skyline title in program history for USMMA (2018, 2019) and improves the Mariners' overall record to 13-2, while the Rams fall to 9-8 in defeat.

Game Links Senior Jessie Wohner (Norfolk, Va.) was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Skyline Championship Tournament, after she led all players with eight points on seven goals and one assist. Equally impressive to what her offensive stats were, Wohner also played a huge role in preventing clears for the Rams, as she caused a career-high seven turnovers and also scooped up five groundballs.

Junior Jaqui Sheedy (Baltimore, Md.) finished with four goals and one helper and had a game-high six draw controls, while classmates Jenna Turrentine (Kennesaw, Ga.) and Julia Coughlin (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) both added two points apiece – Turrentine with two tallies and Coughlin with one goal and one assist.

Junior defender Meghan Malone (Crofton, Md.) also added a third-quarter goal after a groundball, quick clear and give-and-go of sorts with sophomore Kaitlyn Latchaw (Phoenix, Md.). They rounded out the Mariner scorers. Junior goalie Hope Germanakos (Lynbrook, N.Y.) made four saves for the victory.

For the Rams, juniors Marina Zumbrunn and Jasmin Brown both found the back of the net, with sophomore goalie Ronnie Reilly making 15 saves and leading all players with six groundballs.
