KINGS POINT, N.Y. (April 2, 2022) – Head Coach
Kyle Simensky could not be happier about the way that the USMMA women's lacrosse team finished its non-conference schedule, as the Mariners defeated visiting Salve Regina University, 18-8, on Saturday at Brooks Stadium. With the win, Merchant Marine improves to 4-2 on the season, while the Seahawks fall to the same 4-2 record with their setback.

Â
The game was close over the first half, with Merchant Marine holding a 3-2 lead after one quarter and then an 8-5 advantage at halftime. The Mariners started to win the battle of the draw controls in the third and it showed, as they cashed in on their extra possessions to the tune of a 6-2 showing in the frame to lead 14-7 after 45 minutes. They added four more in the fourth and finished the final minutes of the game with a 10-goal running-clock situation.
