Box Score NEWARK, N.J. (March 4, 2022) – The #5-seed USMMA men's basketball team lost in the ECAC Championship Quarterfinals on Friday to #4-seed Penn State-Altoona, 85-73, on Friday at Rutgers-Newark's Golden Dome Athletic Center. In defeat, the Mariners end their season with a 15-9 overall record, their first full winning season since 2012-13, while the Lions improve to 19-7 and move on to the ECAC Semifinals on Saturday.

Isaac Vencel (Bloomington, Ind.) leading the way with 16 points and a game-high eight assists and five steals, followed by classmate
Kody Robinson (Woodbridge, N.J.) and
Bryce Bristow (Plano, Texas) right behind with 15 points each and senior
Blaine McDonough (Marietta, Ga.) with 10 points as part of a double-double effort in his final collegiate game with a game-high 10 rebounds.
The Mariners dug themselves into an early hole that they just could not crawl out of, as they fell behind by double-digits just over seven minutes into the game. The closest they got the rest of the game was within seven points late in the first half.
The Lions had six players scored in double-digits, led by freshman PJ Charles who scored a game-best 18 points, while also bringing down a team-high nine boards. Junior Alex McClellan drained 14 points, classmates Robbie Hicks and Saivon Word both had 13 each, sophomore Mason Bush scored 12 points and junior Andruw Harman contributed 11.
