KINGS POINT, N.Y. (April 10, 2021) – After the USMMA men's lacrosse team had its road game against Manhattanville postponed yesterday, the two schools decided early Saturday to move the location of the game to Kings Point and played at Brooks Stadium this evening. The Mariners won in convincing fashion, 12-3, to capture their first win of the season, while the Valiants fall to 0-2 in defeat.
Senior
Nick Alberici (Auburn, N.Y.) registered a game-best seven points on six goals and one assist. Freshman
James Dotsikas (Jacksonville, Fla.) added three points on two tallies and a helper, while three other Mariners had two points apiece – senior
Michael Carbone (Hamilton, N.J.) with two goals, classmate
Mike Morsberger (Catonsville, Md.) with a goal and an assist and junior
Antony DeJulius (Coventry, Conn.) with two helpers.
Senior
Kyle Buser (Babylon, N.Y.) won 15-of-18 face-offs and scooped up a game-high 14 groundballs, and senior goalie
Brendan Kane (Lewes, Del.) played the full 90 minutes and earned the win after making seven saves.
For the Valiants, junior Nick Cornelia tallied two goals, classmate Connor Cassidy had a goal and a helper, and freshman Mike Walsh had the Valiants
only other point with an assist.
The Mariners will return to action on Tuesday night, April 13, with a home game against Skyline Conference opponent St. Joseph's of Long Island. Faceoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Brooks Stadium. Live stats and a live video feed of the game will be available with links on
