KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Nov. 3, 2021) – The USMMA men's soccer season came to an end on Wednesday night, as the Mariners suffered a 1-0 loss on the road at top-seeded Manhattanville's GoValiants.com Field in the Skyline Conference Semifinals.
 
It was a goal in the closing seconds of the first half that stood as the difference on the night, as Manhattanville's junior Eli Pardo converted on a penalty kick after a real tough call of a foul in the Merchant Marine box.
 
The Mariners held a slight 10-8 advantage in shots during the affair, with the Valiants leading in shots on goal, 5-4. Both keepers, USMMA junior Chase Miller (Boise, Idaho) and Manhattanville sophomore Luis Granados made four saves over the 90 minutes.
 
USMMA finishes the 2021 season with an 11-9 overall record, while the Valiants improve to 12-4-2 and will host #2-seed Mount St. Vincent in the Skyline Finals this Saturday.
