MBB Game Day: Mariners Take On Trinity On The Road Tuesday Night

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Jan. 13, 2015) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men's basketball team will travel to Hartford, Conn., today for a non-conference showdown with Trinity College. Action is set to get underway at 7 p.m. at the Bantams' Ferris Athletic Center.

Last Meeting: The two teams played each other last year on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 at O'Hara Hall and the Mariners came away with a narrow home victory, 68-66.


Scouting The Bantams
Trinity enters Tuesday's action with an impressive 12-2 overall record and is 2-0 in New England Small College Athletic Conference play under fifth-year head coach James Cosgrove. The Bantams started the season with a 2-2 mark, but have won 10 straight games dating back to Nov. 25.

Junior Jaquann Starks leads the squad with 14.9 points per game, while classmate Shay Ajayi is also averaging double-figures with 11.4ppg. Sophomore Ed Ogundeko is the top rebounder with 8.0 boards per game and senior George Papadeas has led Trinity with 57.1-percent shooting from the field 40-for-70.
