Robert Lavina, a Division-I football transfer, was a three-sport letter winner in football, basketball, and baseball.  As a junior, he was named Honorable Mention Little All-America in football while also winning the ECAC Merit Medal as the Academy’s top junior student athlete.  Lavina still holds two Kings Point records, the most notable being most touchdowns scored in a game (5).  He was a star member of the 1968 football squard which finished the season with an 8-1 record and which ranked 17th nationally.  Lavina is considered one of the best running backs to have ever played for the Mariners.
