Edward Hoffman was a three-year letter winner in basketball.  He won the 1969 Adm. Stedman Trophy and was also named All-Long Island and All-Metropolitan.  Hoffman was the first Kings Pointer to score over 1,000 points in his career and held the academy record until 1985.  He currently stands third on the all-time scoring list.  Hoffman served as captain of the 1968-69 squad which finished 18-6 to set a record for most wins in a season; a record which stood until 1984-85.
