At the time of his graduation, Tom Cannon’s ten varsity letters were more than any previous Kings Point graduate had ever earned. Cannon started every football game for four years except for three games during his junior year when he sustained a knee injury. Cannon led the Mariners in pass receptions for three of his four years. In addition, Cannon earned four varsity letter in basketball and two with baseball. Both years he played Cannon led the baseball team in batting average and homeruns, and was named to the Conference All-Star Team.
