LT Ann Wickham To Be Featured On Television Thursday Evening
Oct 31, 2007 - LT Ann Wickham of the Department of Marine Transportation will be featured on the WLIW Channel 21 program, Snapshot, on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m. This episode of Snapshot will focus on women in defense industries and the military, including the admission of women to the United States Merchant Marine Academy. LT Wickham is a member of the Class of 2001 and serves as the U.S. Coast Guard representative to the Academy as well as assistant coach of the volleyball program.

Volleyball Concludes Season At Kean Cougar Classic
Oct 22, 2007 - The United States Merchant Marine Academy volleyball team closed out its 2007 campaign with a three-win improvement from a year ago at the Kean Cougar Classic over the weekend. Sophomore Jesselyn LaValley was named to the All-Tournament Team for her performance. The Mariners opened up with a 3-0 win over Mount St. Vincent and closed out the tournament with a pair of 3-1 losses to Polytechnic and a 3-2 set back against host Kean. Despite the 1-3 tournament record, eight of the 11 Mariners on the roster had at least one career outing.

Western Connecticut State Betters Volleyball, 3-0
Oct 17, 2007 - Ana Fuschetto and Jesselyn LaValley each recorded a double-double, but the United States Merchant Marine Academy volleyball team took a 3-0 loss (30-18, 30-24, 40-19) to Western Connecticut State in its last home game of the season. LaValley just missed a triple-double and finished the game with 10 kills, eight digs and a season-best 11 blocks while Fuschetto had 10 assists and a team-best 12 digs to go along with two service aces. Prior to the match, senior Elise Houston and assistant coach LT Ann Wickham ’01 were honored for their contributions to the program.

Oct 13, 2007 - The United States Merchant Marine Academy volleyball team surpassed its win total from a year ago at a tri-match hosted by John Jay on Saturday. The Mariners swept John Jay (30-14, 30-17, 30-27) and Rutgers-Newark (30-14, 30-15, 30-28) to win their second tri-match in as many chances this fall.
No. 20 Stevens Tech Tops Volleyball, 3-0
Oct 10, 2007 - Patricia Greene fell one dig shy of a double-double and Elise Houston set a career mark, but the United States Merchant Marine Academy volleyball team took a 3-0 loss (30-17, 33-31, 30-19) against No. 20 nationally-ranked Stevens Tech on Wednesday evening. The game marked the third time the Mariners have faced a nationally-ranked opponent this fall.
