Women's Swimming And Diving Places Sixth At Landmarks
Feb 17, 2008 - The United States Merchant Marine Academy women’s swimming and diving team placed sixth with 144 points at the Landmark Conference Championships which concluded on Sunday evening at the O’Hara Hall Natatorium. Senior Jaquelyn Peterson was named the Diver of the Year. Scranton won the team title and finished with 599.50 points.

Feb 16, 2008 - The United States Merchant Marine Academy women’s swimming and diving team stands in fifth place out of seven competing schools with 125 points through the second day of the Landmark Conference Championships at the O’Hara Hall Natatorium. Jaquelyn Peterson and Rita Dernar placed first and second, respectively, in the 1-meter diving event while Maggie Edwards finished 10th in the 400 yard individual medley. Both relay teams also accumulated points for the Mariners.

Feb 16, 2008 - The second day of the Landmark Conference Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships was completed on Saturday morning with preliminary races in five more events. Maggie Edwards advanced to the consolation race in the 400 yard individual medley while five Mariners – Gina Gottschalk, Meaghan Foster, Paula Spriggs, Eleanor Rogers and Michelle Rothwall – all swam a season-best time in their respective event.

Gina Gottschalk Named Landmark Athlete of the Week
Feb 4, 2008 - Gina Gottschalk of the United States Merchant Marine Academy women’s swimming and diving team was named the Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week. The announcement was made by the conference office earlier today. This is the first time that Gottschalk has been honored by the new league. The sophomore won two individual events and swam on the final relay team that sealed the Mariners victory over Purchase College on Saturday and ended the Panthers’ quest for a perfect season.
