Robbins’ Walk-off Homer Splits Softball Doubleheader vs. CSI
Mar 20, 2010 - KINGS POINT, N.Y. – Junior shortstop Kaitlyn Robbins helped the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy softball squad to a doubleheader split with the College of Staten Island as she belted a walk-off two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning of Game Two to give the Mariners a 9-7 victory on Saturday afternoon at Kings Point Park in Kings Point, N.Y. The Dolphins took the first game by a final score of 5-3. Following the twinbill action, USMMA’s record now stands at 4-5 on the season, while Staten Island’s ledger is 3-3 overall.

Robbins’ 7 RBI Leads Softball to Doubleheader Sweep over Lehman
Mar 16, 2010 - BRONX, N.Y. – On Tuesday, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy softball team earned its second and third victories of the season in a doubleheader sweep of Lehman College at South Field in Bronx, N.Y. The final score of the first game was 11-0 in favor of the Mariners, while the second contest’s decision read 18-6. With the two triumphs, the Mariners improved to 3-4 on the year. Following the losses, the Lightning fell to 0-2 overall.

Jesselyn LaValley Named Second Team All-Region
May 7, 2009 - Junior Jesselyn LaValley of the United States Merchant Marine Academy softball team was named to the 2009 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-Region Second Team. LaValley was selected to the team in the at large spot.

Softball Falls In ECAC Tournament To Rutgers-Camden
May 6, 2009 - The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy softball team fell to Rutgers-Camden, 6-2 in the first round of the ECAC Tournament on Wednesday, May 6th. Freshman Nicole Kogel led the way for the Mariners going 1-for-2 with two walks and knocking in the only Mariner runs. Kim Saxton helped out going 1-for-2 with a walk and a run.

May 4, 2009 - The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy softball team earned an ECAC Tournament Bid. The team will travel to Rutgers-Camden with the game starting at 6:00 pm.
Jesselyn LaValley Named Landmark Player of the Year
May 4, 2009 - Junior Jesselyn LaValley of the United States Merchant Marine Academy softball team was named the Landmark Conference Player of the Year. The announcement was made by the conference office this afternoon. LaValley was also named to the Landmark First Team as a first baseman.
