Feb 27, 2008 - Kristen Hetsko and Stephanie Waller combined for 23 points, but the United States Merchant Marine Academy women's basketball team took a 63-44 loss to the Scranton Lady Royals in the Landmark Conference Tournament on Wednesday night. USMMA ended its historic 2007-08 season 15-11 overall. The Lady Royals improved to 20-5 overall and will host Juniata for the Landmark Conference Championship on Saturday.

Morgan Gartner And Brooke Picillo Garner Postseason Honors
Feb 26, 2008 - Senior captain Morgan Gartner and sophomore point guard Brooke Picillo of the United States Merchant Marine Academy women's basketball team were honored by the Landmark Conference when the league released its postseason awards earlier today. Gartner was named to the All-Landmark Conference First Team and Picillo garnered Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors. Both Mariners helped the team advance to the four-team Landmark Conference Tournament and match a school record for wins in season so far.

Women's Basketball Travels To Scranton For Landmark Tournament
Feb 24, 2008 - After matching a school record for wins in a season at Drew on Saturday evening, the fourth-seeded United States Merchant Marine Academy women’s basketball team (15-10, 7-7 LC) will travel to face the top-seeded Scranton Lady Royals (19-5, 13-1 LC) for a Landmark Conference Tournament game on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. The winner will advance to the championship game on Saturday at a time to be determined against the winner of the other semifinal between Moravian and Juniata. A Mariner victory would be a school record 16th win and send Mike Murray's club to their first appearance ever in a conference championship game.

Feb 23, 2008 - Brooke Picillo set a school record for steals in a season to help lead the United States Merchant Marine Academy women’s basketball team to a convincing 72-49 win at Drew University on Saturday evening. With the victory, the Mariners clinched the fourth seed in next week’s Landmark Conference Tournament and also matched a program record for winning their 15th game of the season. Picillo had five picks in the game and has 81 to date this winter.

The Mariners will punch their ticket to the Landmark Conference Tournament and travel to face Scranton on Wednesday with a win over the Rangers or a loss combined with a Susquehanna loss to Juniata.
