Earle Coppa And James Wade Head To ECAC Championships
May 13, 2008 - Freshman Earle Coppa and senior James Wade of the United States Merchant Marine Academy men's outdoor track and field team will head to the ECAC Championships at Springfield College On May 15-16. Coppa will compete in the pole vault and Wade will participate in the 110-meter hurdles.

Five Mariner Men Compete At NYC Qualifying Challenge
May 12, 2008 - Five Mariners represented the United States Merchant Marine Academy men's outdoor track and field team at the New York City Qualifying Challenge on Randall's Island this past Saturday. The event is held annually and gives student-athletes who have qualified or are close to qualifying for an upcoming championship meet one last chance to improve their times and marks.

Earle Coppa won the pole vault and Wade was victorious in the 110-meter high hurdles to highlight a list of strong performances by the Mariners at the non-scoring meet.
Men's Outdoor Track And Field Finishes Fifth At Landmarks
Apr 27, 2008 - The United States Merchant Marine Academy men’s outdoor track and field team placed fifth with 47.5 points at the Landmark Conference Championships hosted by Moravian College on Sunday afternoon. James Wade qualified for the ECAC Championships in the 110-meter high hurdles to lead the way for the Mariners on the second day. Almost every student-athlete for USMMA set a personal record in at least one event. Moravian won the team title with 277 points.

Apr 26, 2008 - The United States Merchant Marine Academy men’s outdoor track and field team stands in fifth place through the first day of action at the Landmark Conference Championships. The Mariners have 22.5 points. John Brunetti, Joshua Norris and James Wade all accumulated points for the Mariners. Moravian, the host school, leads the field with 98 points.
