The United States Merchant Marine Academy baseball team fell to the University of Scranton, 9-4 on Sunday afternoon in Scranton, Pa. Sophomore catcher Jeff Schwind went 2-for-3 with two runs batted in and one run scored to led the Mariners. Senior L. James McCollum went 1-for-4 with one run batted in and one run scored.

The United States Merchant Marine Academy baseball team dropped a conference doubleheader against the University of Scranton on Saturday afternoon in Scranton, Pa. The Mariners lost game one, 7-5 and lost game two, 13-7. Senior Brad Rakoce led the Mariners in game one. He went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and two runs batted in. Game two was led by freshman Doug Carter. He went 2-for-3 with three runs scored; two runs batted in and hit his first home run of the season. Rakoce went 2-for-4 with two runs batted in; one run scored and hit his fourth home run of the season. Baseball Travels To Scranton For Its Last Games Of 2008

The United States Merchant Marine Academy baseball team will travel to the University of Scranton this weekend for a three game conference series. This weekend will mark the final games of the Mariners 2008 season. USMMA enters the weekend with an overall record of 11-19 and 2-13 in the Landmark Conference. Scranton enters the weekend with a 20-12 overall record and a 8-7 conference record. The Mariners have won six of their last eight games. Baseball Beats Purchase For The Second Time This Season

The United States Merchant Marine Academy baseball team beat SUNY Purchase, 5-4 on Wednesday afternoon. Junior pitcher Eric Anderson received his first win of the season, striking out four batters in seven innings. Senior third baseman Brandon Scott went 3-for-4 with three runs batted in; two runs scored and hit his third home run of the season. Senior E. Patrick Boyle went 3-for-4 with one run scored.
Baseball Hosts SUNY Purchase For Its Final Home Game

The United State Merchant Marine Academy baseball team will play host to SUNY Purchase on Wednesday, April 23rd for its final home game of the season. USMMA enters the game with an overall record of 10-19 while Purchase enters the game with an overall record of 9-23. Earlier this season, the Mariners defeated Purchase by a score of 5-4.
