Women’s Cross Country Places Ninth at CTC Championships
SEWELL, N.J. – On Saturday, the United States Merchant Marine Academy women's cross country team finished 10th at the CTC Championships at Cherokee High School in Sewell, N.J. The meet was hosted by Rowan University.
The top finisher for the Mariners was sophomore Gretchen Holoubek (Saverna Park, Md.) with an overall 29th-place finish in the 5K run (21:32).
"There was very stiff competition amongst the Division II and III schools participating at this meet. Some of the top teams in our region were represented," Head Coach Gregory Lott commented. "All six of our female competitors posted season-best times at this meet. The women's squad is really coming together as a team and I'm excited to see their performances at the Landmark Conference Championships in two weeks."
Head Coach Gregory Lott and the Mariners return to action on Saturday, October 30, when they compete in the Landmark Conference Championships at Goucher College in Baltimore, Md.
