KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Aug. 30, 2018) – On Thursday, the Skyline Conference announced the preseason coaches' poll for women's volleyball and USMMA was picked to finish first by the league's head coaches. The Mariners led the poll with 93 points and five first-place votes.
2016 Skyline Champions Farmingdale State came in second with 89 points and three first-place votes, while 2017 Skyline runners-up Mount St. Vincent were third with 84 points and two first-place votes.
St. Joseph's-L.I. (72 points, one first-place vote) placed fourth, followed by Mount St. Mary (65 points) in fifth, SUNY Maritime (55 points) in sixth, Sarah Lawrence (37 points) in seventh, St. Joseph's-Brooklyn (36 points) in eighth, Old Westbury (35 points) in ninth, Purchase (23 points) in 10th and Yeshiva (16 points) in 11th.

The Mariners open the 2018 season tomorrow, Friday, Aug. 31, at home against Rutgers-Newark. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Liebertz Gymnasium. Live stats and a live video feed of the game will be available with links on the USMMA Women's Volleyball Schedule Page.
