Pope Earns Second Straight Selection To Skyline Women’s Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Oct. 31, 2017) – USMMA senior Dominique Pope (Silver Spring, Md.) was selected to the Skyline Conference women's volleyball weekly honor roll, the conference announced on Monday . It's also the fourth time total this year that she has earned the accolade, all in the past five weeks.

Pope led the Mariners to two home Skyline Conference sweeps on Saturday with a pair of double-digit kill performances. She led all players in kills in both matches, registering 10 against Purchase and 15 against Old Westbury. Pope recorded 4.17 kills per set, 1.83 digs per set and 1.33 service aces per set (eight total aces). She also had a.362 hitting percentage over the two matches.

The senior currently ranks in the top-10 in the Skyline Conference in three separate categories – her 3.20 kills per set are second in the league, her 0.65 aces per set rank fourth and her .220 hitting percentage is good for seventh.

Also ranking among the conference leaders are sophomore Kyleigh Kappas (Parker, Colo.), who leads all setters with 8.79 assists per set, senior Tichina Carmon (Greenville, N.C.), who is third in the Skyline with 0.73 blocks per set, junior Kate Lefler (Norman, Okla.), who ranks fifth with 3.03 kills per set and 10th with a .218 hitting percentage and senior Myckenzie Toler (Prunedale, Calif.), whose 0.63 service aces per set place her sixth in the league.

Nationally, as a team, the Mariners rank fourth among all NCAA DIII teams in holding opponents to a .064 hitting percentage, while their 2.95 service aces per set are good for 15th in the country.
