Gaiser To Serve On NCAA Regional Advisory Committee & Vote In AVCA Coaches Top 25 Poll

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Sept. 14, 2017) – USMMA women's volleyball second-year head coach Tim Gaiser is keeping himself busy off of the sidelines, as he recently agreed to serve on the NCAA Division III women's volleyball regional advisory committee and will also be a voting member of the American Volleyball Coaches Associate (AVCA) Division III Coaches Top 25 Poll.

"It's truly an honor and a privilege to be selected to both serve on the NCAA regional advisory committee and be asked to vote in the AVCA Top 25 Coaches Poll," commented Gaiser. "I'm happy to represent the Academy in these roles and look forward to the work ahead with these two new positions."

The role of the regional advisory committee is to assist the Division III Women's Volleyball Committee in evaluating and ranking teams throughout the season, reviewing potential regional host sites and providing input regarding officials for postseason assignment. During regional ranking calls, committee members will review the information available in the online score-reporting system, evaluate the teams in the region using established selection criteria and discuss how teams should be ranked.

As a voter in the AVCA Top 25 Poll, Gaiser will submit his ranking of the teams in Division IIII based on their performance each week. The poll is compiled and released each Tuesday. The poll is meant to be a cumulative barometer of how the teams in the country compare to each other.

Now in his second season as the Mariners' head coach, Gaiser is looking to improve on the Mariners' 2016 finish as Skyline Conference runners-up and take the program back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2001 season.
