Final Meet Results
NEW YORK (March 1, 2019) – Freshman Robin King (Raymond, Ohio) represented the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women's track & field team at the 2019 ECAC Division III Indoor Championship Meet at the Armory in Manhattan on Friday. The freshman qualified for the ECAC's 5,000-meter race back in early February.
Out of the four competitors in the 5K race on Friday, King finished in second place with a time of 18:56.21. She was 20 seconds behind the winner, senior Alexis Jones of Rutgers-Camden, and just narrowly beat out third-place Sydney Ruckel, a sophomore from Salisbury, who finished just .57 seconds behind King.
King scored eight points for USMMA towards the team's total for the meet. The meet will conclude on Saturday.
The Mariner women have concluded the indoor season. The next meet on the schedule is the outdoor season-opener later this month, the Ursinus Invitational on Saturday, March 23, in Collegeville, Pa.
