USMMA Performs Well at Albright Invitational

Reading, PA – Daniel Wolfer (Hebron, KY) took first-place in the 3000 meter and the 1-mile over the weekend at the Albright Invitational.  USMMA took the first three spots in the one mile race as Conor McWeeney (Lake Oswego, OR) and Oliver Weber (Garden City, NY) finished second and third, respectively.  Lorisabel Santos-Dejesus (Williamsburg, VA) highlighted the Mariners women's competition with a first-place mark of 64.23 seconds in the 400 meter dash.

Mary Zhender (Carle Place, NY) was first in the 800 meter dash, taking the event in 2:39.58.  Cameron Green (Lancaster, PA) captured the top-spot in the 800 meter dash, clocking in at 2:07.29.  Mark Shelley (Landisburg, PA) cleared 3.34 meters on his third attempt in the men's pole vault as the rookie earned second-place.  Danielle Ciufia claimed second in the women's high jump, leaping over the bar at 1.45 meters.

The Merchant Marine indoor track & field teams return to action February 15 at the Molloy College Invitational.
