SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (Feb. 28, 2015) – This past Friday and Saturday, three USMMA divers competed at the very competitive NCAA Diving Regional Meet, hosted by Springfield College. The Mariners sent junior Gerrit Porter (Houston, Texas) and sophomore Ryan Mavity (St. Joseph, Mich.) on the men's side and senior Elizabeth Jackson (Albany, Ga.) represented the women. The trio had a strong weekend.
Porter notched the top finish of the three divers, coming in eighth place in the one-meter competition with a score of 426.50. The score qualified him as an alternate for the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships in the event. Porter also placed 11th from the three-meter board with a 498.95.
Mavity came in 11th place (408.25) in the one-meter and 18th (439.00) in the three-meter. Jackson placed 21st (397.70) in the one-meter diving competition and 26th (330.95) in the three-meter.
The 2015 NCAA DIII National Championship will be held March 18-21 at the CISD Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas. For more information on the event, follow this link.
