Women’s Swimming & Diving in 4th Place at End of Day 2 Champs.

KINGS POINT, N.Y. – On Saturday, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women's swimming and diving squad had amassed 233 points to stand in fourth place after Day Two of the 2011 Landmark Conference Championships, which Kings Point is hosting for the fourth consecutive year.


In the 200-yard freestyle, freshman Kate Radzwill (Woodbury, Minn.) placed fifth with a clocking of 2:01.31.


Sophomore Casey Moore (Tucson, Ariz.) finished in third in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.57), while freshman Emily Olsen (Glenwood, N.J.) placed fifth (1:11.07).


On the 3-meter diving board, sophomore Kathryn Schmidt (Colorado Springs, Colo.) finished first with a score of 275.20, while freshman Lynae Harvey (Thornton, Colo.) was second (229.75).


Head Coach Sean Tedesco and the Mariners return to action tomorrow for the final day of the league championships. The events will get underway at 11:00 a.m. at the O'Hara Pool.
