Before USMMA: Walker was a member of the football and wrestling teams at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. He was named the 2009-10 Regional Wrestler of the Year and captured EKL Championships in 2008-09 and 2009-10. He placed four times in state championship events, finishing second, fifth (2x), and sixth. Walker was a member of a 2006-07 state championship team.
