USMMA Honors Seniors, Drops Close Match to NYU

USMMA still forfeiting a weight class drops their final home match of the year to NYU.  The Violets got off to an early lead through the first 4 bouts receiving a forfeit at 125, and winning the 133, 141, and 149 pound weight classes. Matt Hiltz 157lbs stopped the run by NYU with a fall over Sam Friedfeld. NYU answered back with a win at the 165lb weight class over Josh Miller. The Mariners would win the remaining 3 bouts of the night but fall short 16-22.

Kings Point will be back in action on January 21st when they take on Washington and Lee, and McDaniel College in Westminster MD. Wrestling will begin at 11:00.

Erik Schott (3rd from left), Alliance, OH.  A team Captain and 2x conference place winner, with a career record of 82 - 41 (5th on the Kings Point all time win list). Erik is an engineering major who plans to sail after graduation.

Martin Bell (middle), Eaton Rapids Michigan. A team Captain, 2 x conference finalist, conference champion, and 2010 NCAA Qualifier.  Martin has a career record of 52 – 35 with 41 wins coming by fall. Martin is an Engineering major who plans to sail with military sea lift command after graduation.

Dan Wilke (3rd from right), Nazareth PA. Dan is engineering major and plan to sail with military sea lift command after graduation.

Joe Guetches (2nd from right), Severna park MD. Joe is a marine transportation major who plans to sail on tugs in Baltimore harbor after graduation.
