KINGS POINT, N.Y. (May 20, 2019) – On Monday, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced the All-Region Teams for the 2019 season. USMMA senior goalie Hanna Gizzi (Finksburg, Md.) was one of the 256 student-athletes honored with a spot on the All-Region Team, as she was named to the Second Team in the Boardwalk Region.
Earlier this month, the Skyline Conference head coaches selected Gizzi as the league's Defensive Player of the Year and to the First Team All-Skyline. It was the fourth time in her career that she was chosen as the First Team Goalie. The senior finished the 2019 season with a 17-1 record, a Division III-leading 5.60 goals against average, and a .536 save percentage, which was the Skyline-best and the 12th-highest in the nation.
Over her career, Gizzi has posted a 43-17 record with an 8.60 goals against average and a .503 save percentage. She backstopped the Mariners to back-to-back Skyline Conference Championships and NCAA Tournament berths in 2018 and 2019.

Gizzi becomes the fourth Mariner ever to receive All-Region accolades, as classmates Meredith Willard (Portland, Maine) and Jessica Reilly (Sayville, N.Y.), as well as Rebecca Bessler '18 earned All-ECAC honors in 2018, and Reilly was also selected to the IWLCA Boardwalk Region Second Team last year, as well.
