Women’s Lacrosse Drops Inaugural Season Finale, 21-10
West Hartford, CT – The USMMA women's lacrosse team registered a program best 10 goals in their season finale against St. Joseph (CT). Alexandra Winfree (Millstone, NJ) scored five goals for the Mariners while Kristen Bell (New City, NY) notched three goals and Jessica Willey (Warner Robbins, GA) registered a pair of markers. Kelly Allison (Palos Verdes, CA) totaled 18 saves between the pipes for USMMA in the 21-10 loss.
St. Joseph (CT) (5-9) opened up a 16-3 advantage heading into halftime after scoring ten unanswered goals. The Blue Jays offense was paced by the seven points, four goals and three assists, of Rachel Foster as well as six goals from Dayna Gambino.
Merchant Marine (0-11) outscored an opponent in a half for the first time in program history in the second half. USMMA won the final 30 minutes of action, 7-5, against the Blue Jays. Winfree also paced the Mariners with nine draw controls and four ground balls.
