Mariners Falls to Future Landmark Conference Rival Drew

Madison, NJ - The USMMA women's lacrosse team dropped a 15-3 verdict Wednesday afternoon to the Drew Rangers.  Kristen Bell (New City, NY) scored two goals for the Mariners while Alexandra Winfree (Millstone, NJ) added a tally of her own.

Drew (6-8) scored the first seven goals of the day before Bell got USMMA on the board at the 16:48 mark.  The Rangers were led by Krysta Canto who tied a school single game record with six assists.

Merchant Marine (0-9) goaltender Mara Blagojevic (Tinley Park, IL) made six saves and scooped up a team high 10 ground balls while playing her first collegiate game between the pipes.  The Mariner defense did force the Rangers into 23 total turnovers.

The USMMA women's lacrosse team returns to action Sunday evening for a 5:00 pm contest at Mount St. Vincent.
