Selinsgrove, PA – The Merchant Marine men's indoor track & field team finished fourth at the 2014 Landmark Conference Championships hosted by Susquehanna University. Cameron Green (Lancaster, CA) placed second in the 800 meter race with a time of 2:00.37. Tyler Washington (Chatham, NY) also claimed second-place in an individual event, leaping 13.50 meters in the triple jump.
Washington also crossed the tape third in the 60 meter hurdles with a mark of 9.05 seconds. The result gave the senior two top-three finishes in his first appearance at the Landmark Conference Championships. The Mariners 4x200 relay team of Timothy Pamlanye (Ronkonkoma, NY), Thomas Routt (Elliot City, MD), Even Purdy (Wading River, NY), and Nathan Rodgers (South Bend, WA) placed third in the conference with a mark of 1:38.88.
Matthew Pastuszak (Berlin, CT) joined Routt, Purdy, and Rodgers to compete in the distance medley. The USMMA contingent grabbed fourth-place, finishing the race in 11:13.67. Ryan Faber was seventh in the long jump, hitting the sand 6.29 meters away from the line. Daniel Wolfer (Hebron, KY), Oliver Weber (Garden City, NY) and Green claimed seventh, eight, and ninth, respectively in the 1-mile run. Wolfer led the pack with a time of 4:36.41.
The USMMA track & field teams return to action next weekend with any qualifiers for the ECAC Championships.
