December 12, 2011 Vita is vital (2 wins) as men swimmers swamp Queens College The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men's swimming team recorded its second victory in three days as it defeated Queens College, 131-81, in a non-conference meet at O'Hara Hall on Monday night.

The senior bested all the competition on the 3-meter board in the NCAA Division III Championships.
March 26, 2011 John Fields and Nicholas Halbach Continue to Swim/Dive Well at NCAAs KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – On Saturday, junior swimmer John Fields (Burke, Va.) of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men’s swimming and diving team placed 18th overall in the 200-yard breaststroke prelims at the NCAA Division III Championships held at the University of Tennessee. The Burke native finished with a clocking of 2:06.47, and will have an opportunity to swim in the Final round tonight.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - On Thursday, senior diver Nicholas Halbach (Wheat Ridge, Colo.) of the USMMA Men's Swimming & Diving team took home his third national championship! The senior bested all the competition on the 1-meter board in the NCAA Division III Championships. Halbach's other two national titles came on the 1-meter and 3-meter boards as a sophomore in 2009.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – On Wednesday evening, junior John Fields (Burke, Va.) of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men’s swimming and diving team placed 12th overall in the 200-yard IM Finals (fourth in the Consolation Round) at the NCAA Division III Championships held at the University of Tennessee. The Burke native finished with a time of 1:51.72.
March 24, 2011 Fields and Vita Continue to Swim Well at NCAAs KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – On Thursday morning, junior John Fields (Burke, Va.) of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men’s swimming and diving team placed 18th overall in the 400-yard IM prelims at the NCAA Division III Championships held at the University of Tennessee. His mark of 4:03.62 was a season best, and will once again have an opportunity to swim in the Final round tonight.
