Double honors: Fields, Biehn Landmark named swimmers of the week

KINGS POINT, N.Y. – Senior John Fields and sophomore Alexandra Biehn were named the Landmark Conference's women's and men's swimmers of the week.

Fields won two events as the men recorded a 113-92 non-conference win over Manhattan College on Dec. 10.

He took first place in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:02.25 and won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:01.90.

Biehn also won a pair of freestyle swimming events as the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women opened their dual meet season with a 107-94 loss at Manhattan College on the same day.

Biehn captured the 1000-yard freestyle in 11:43.96 and went on to win the 500-yard freestyle in 5:42.01.

The Mariners won't be swimming in an actual competition until after the Christmas break when they compete at Scranton University on Jan. 7. However, they certainly will keep in shape as they will train in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. from Dec. 26-Jan. 3.
