Men's Lacrosse Tabbed Third in Landmark Conference Preseason Poll

The USMMA men's lacrosse team has been slated to finish third in the 2014 Landmark Conference Preseason Poll, as selected by the league's head coaches.  Merchant Marine received one first-place vote after finishing fourth last season and upsetting top-seeded Goucher in the Landmark Conference semifinals.  The Gophers are the 2014 preseason favorite while defending champion Susquehanna was picked to finish second.

Geoff Harty (Chicago, IL) returns to the Merchant Marine lineup after a stellar 2013 campaign that saw the him score 34 goals and 14 assists en route to being named First-Team All-Landmark Conference.  USMMA will also benefit from the offense of senior Phil Walker (Falmouth, MA) who posted 20 goals last year.  The Mariners will have a battle for the starting goaltender spot as Alex Peyreigne (Weston, CT) and Kevin Young (Springfield, VA) both played significant minutes in the 2013 season.

The USMMA men's lacrosse season opens February 19 at Stevens with the first game at Kings Point coming February 26 versus Maritime (NY).
