Series History... The Mariners currently trail the all-time series against NYU, 14-6.  The two sides last met in 2010-11 as the Violets came away with the 56-53 triumph.  Merchant Marine last defeated NYU in the 2001-02 season in a 73-67 decision.

On the Glass...  USMMA has dominated the rebounding battle in each of the last two games.  The Mariners grabbed a combined 114 boards against Sarah Lawrence and Maritime (NY) with a margin of +43.  The Merchant Marine seniors have led the charge on the glass with Danny Collins (Sleepy Hollow, NY) averaging 9.7 rebounds per game and Nick Sergio (Patchogue, NY) and Zach Karczewski (Austin, TX) both posting 6.7 rebounds per game.

Second Half Surge...  Last time out, the Mariners trailed Maritime (NY), 37-35, heading into the halftime intermission.  However, USMMA rattled off 48 points in the second half and made 15-of-21 (71.4%) of its attempts at three throw line.  Merchant Marine spread around the scoring with 11 different players posting at least two points in the second half.

Miller in the Mix...  Freshman Matthew Miller (Augusta, GA) has made an immediate impact for the Mariners in 2013, starting all three games this season.  The freshman is averaging 26.3 minutes per game, third highest on the team, as well as 10.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.

Landmark Conference Notebook...  Seven of the eight teams in the Landmark Conference currently hold a record of .500 or better early in 2013-14.  The league currently boasts a 24-13 (.649) record in non-conference action.
