Mariner's sophomore guard Reed Buck earned Landmark Conference Player of the Week honors for men's basketball for the second time this season.
Buck averaged 19.5 points per game after scoring 24 in a win over Goucher, and followed it up with a 15 point effort, including a pair of late hoops to help the Mariners top Catholic by two. He added 11 rebounds, seven assists and two steals in the weekend series, while shooting 48 percent from the field helping to keep USMMA's postseason hopes alive.
"He's by far the most improved player on our team," said Head Coach Danny Nee. "He's excelled tremendously in all facets of the game; passing, shooting, rebounding; I'm astonished by the leaps he's made.
Buck has been the most consistent scorer for the Mariners all season. He has led the team in scoring in 19 of their 22 games and is one of only four Landmark players to record a 30 point game this season.
