KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Nov. 16, 2018) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy football team (7-2, 5-2 NEWMAC) hit the road on Friday, heading up to Massachusetts for its 2018 New England Bowl showdown with Endicott College (7-3, 5-1 CCC) tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 17. Kickoff is scheduled for noon at the Gulls' Hempstead Stadium.
Tickets for Saturday's game may be purchased on the day of the game. Prices are $10 for adults and $5 for students and children. Children under the age of six will be admitted free. Please Note: Only cash will be accepted at the ticket area for Saturday's game at Endicott. An ATM is available on campus at Public Safety.

Mariners Have Chance To Tie Program Record For Wins
With a win on Saturday, the Mariners would tie the program record of eight wins in a season. USMMA has finished a season with eight wins on seven occasions – 1968, 1976, 1985, 1986, 1992, 1997 and 2002.
USMMA Postseason History
The Mariners will be playing their ninth postseason game in program history on Saturday. They have competed in seven ECAC bowl games and one NCAA Tournament game. Their overall record in postseason games is 5-3 (5-2 in bowl games, 0-1 in the NCAA game). Merchant Marine is making its second-consecutive appearance in a bowl game for the first time since they made two-straight ECAC bowl games in 1996 and 1997.
Series History vs. Endicott
Saturday's meeting will be the first ever between the Mariners and the Gulls.
Scouting The Gulls
Endicott finished the 2018 regular season with a 7-3 overall record, including a 5-1 mark in Commonwealth Coast Conference action under first-year head coach Paul McGonagle. They ended the year tied for first in the CCC standings with Western New England, who earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and Salve Regina, who is playing in another New England Bowl matchup at Bridgewater State.
The Gulls' offense produces 443.8 yards per game (239.6 passing and 204.2 rushing), while the defense allows 512.2 yards per game (275.7 passing and 236.5 rushing). Junior QB Joe Kalosky has thrown for 1,876 yards on 142-for-251 passing with 22 touchdowns and eight interceptions. His primary targets have been senior Christian Cole and freshman Shea McManaway, who have both caught 36 passes. Cole has recorded 620 receiving yards with eight touchdowns, while McManaway has 477 yards and has found the end zone a team-best nine times. On the ground, sophomore Anthony Whiteley is the team-leader with 431 yards and two TDs, while junior Hakim Fleming has amassed 389 yards and scored four touchdowns.
Defensively, senior William Rivera leads Endicott with 101 total tackles (57 solo and 44 assisted), including 10.5 for combined losses of 30 yards with two sacks, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and three pass breakups. Sophomore Kevin O'Brien and senior Christian Pizzotti are tied for second on the team with 62 tackles apiece. O'Brien has 6.5 for losses, including 1.5 sacks, to go along with one interception and two pass breakups, while Pizzotti has four tackles for losses, one interception, one pass breakup and a blocked kick.
On special teams, junior kicker Nick DiCairano has nailed 12-of-13 field goals with a long of 45 yards. He is also 43-for-45 on PAT attempts. Junior punter John Glaser has averaged 36.3 yards on 35 punts with a long of 61 yards, while also landing nine punts inside the opponents' 20-yardline.
The main return specialist for Endicott is senior Allen Gibson on kickoffs, who has averaged 23.0 yards on 18 returns with one 94-yard touchdown return, and sophomore Liam Wallace on punts, who has averaged 8.1 yards on eight returns with a long of 26 yards.

Merchant Marine Stat Leaders
Junior quarterback Krystian Abbott (Lansing, Kan.) is 58-for-121 on completions for 830 yards and six touchdowns. He is also the Mariners' rushing leader with 504 yards and five scores. Senior Wiley Martin (Polo, Mo.) is second on the team with 356 rushing yards and has also found the end zone five times. Juniors Luke Jamison (Tequesta, Fla.) and Joe Vitelli (Warrington, Pa.) have both caught a team-high 23 passes - Jamison has 416 receiving yards with four TDs and Vitelli has amassed 270 yards with one score.
Defensively, junior Reno Dubreuil (Moorpark, Calif.) leads the Mariners with 54 tackles, including 10 for combined losses of 48 yards and 3.5 sacks to go along with two forced fumbles and three pass breakups. Freshman Eric Davidson (Moorpark, Calif.) is second on the team with 49 tackles (five for losses, including a team-high 4.5 sacks) and also has one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and six pass breakups.
On special teams, junior Gavin Gartner (Cedar Park, Texas) is 11-for-16 on field goals attempts with a season-long of 42 yards, while also nailing 21-of-25 extra points. Freshman punter Jack Ruark (Urbanna, Va.) has averaged 34.9 yards on 46 punts with a long of 54 yards, and has placed 15 punts inside the opponents' 20-yardline. Vitelli is the Mariners' primary return specialist, as he has averaged 21.4 yards on 32 kickoff returns with a long of 53 yards and 7.3 yards on 20 punt returns with a long of 19 yards.
