KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Oct. 16, 2017) – The NEWMAC Conference announced its weekly football award winners on Monday and USMMA senior kicker/punter Erik Swayne (Great Falls, Va.) was selected as the Special Teams Player of the Week. The accolade comes after Swayne's performance in the Mariners' 35-13 home loss to #25 Springfield this past Saturday.

Four of his punts were good for 45-or-more yards.

The senior is currently the second-ranked punter in the NEWMAC with an average of 40.6 yards per punt on 26 punts. He has a season-long of 65 yards and has had eight of his punts land within the opponents' 20-yard line.
