Kings Point, NY – Senior quarterback Alex Coviello (Cape Coral, FL) will represent the USA as D-III NCAA all-stars suit up against CONADEIP all-stars in Guadalara Mexico at 12:00 pm CET on Saturday, December 15 for the "Bowl of the Stars". Coviello had a superb year at USMMA, leading the team in rushing, passing, and scoring as the Mariners compiled their best record since 2003.
"This is a great opportunity for Alex," said Merchant Marine head coach Mike Toop. "It is also a great for the Academy as Alex will represent the USA, as well as the Academy, against an all-star team from Mexico. This is a highly selective all-star team and we are proud of all of Alex's accomplishments."
Team Stars & Stripes is comprised of 44 seniors who were nominated by head coaches at NCAA III colleges to participate in the fourth annual game that is organized by Global Football. The CONADEIP team won last year's game, 45-27, with a squad comprised of players from the national conference of private schools in Mexico.
Coviello can benefit Team Stars & Stripes not only as a quarterback but with versatility as a receiver or running back.
